Chinese Taipei and New Zealand are looking to maintain their places in Asia/Oceania Zone Group I when the two nations go head-to-head in Kaohsiung City.
The hosts have competed in Zone Group I every year since 2004 but find themselves battling relegation after losing a thrilling tie against China, P.R. in April.
Chinese Taipei have lost all three of their previous encounters 5-0 against New Zealand, which will give the visitors some hope that they can avoid dropping down to Zone Group II.
The Kiwis were themselves whitewashed by India in September's first round play-off but their fine record against Chinese Taipei will give them hope that they can stay in Zone Group I for a third consecutive year.
The loser of this tie will play Lebanon in the first round of Asia/Oceania Zone Group II in 2013. The winner will await the outcome of the draw for next year's Asia/Oceania Zone Group I.
