Hungary and Luxembourg meet on a Davis Cup court for the first time since 2002. Last time, the first two days saw 14 of a maximum 15 sets of tennis played to get to Luxembourg’s 3-0 win. This is their fourth meeting overall.
Luxembourg lost to Bosnia/Herzegovina inside two days in February’s first round tie. This is the second year in a row that Luxembourg has had to face relegation. Last year they managed to salvage their Group II status by defeating Madagascar.
Hungary fell to Moldova in the opening round having come back from 0-2 down to force a decisive fifth rubber. They have been in Group II since 2003 and will be looking to keep it that way.
