    The Dominican Republic team was in dominant mood as Victor Estrella and Jose Hernandez powered to a straightforward victory against Uruguay. Hernandez defeated Uruguay's No. 1, Martin Cuevas, in straight sets, before Estrella was able to do likewise with the No. 2, Ariel Behar. The pair then raced through the doubles, losing only eight games, and sending Dominican Republic into unchartered territory as it attempts to qualify for the World Group play-offs for the first time.
