  • Tie Summary

Colombia beat Dominican Republic 4-1 in a tie which was much closer than the scoreline suggests. Jose Hernandez and Victor Estrella took Santiago Giraldo and Alejandro Falla respectively to five sets although the Colombians' quality shone through in the end, with each recording 62 wins in their final sets. The experienced duo of Juan-Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah then defeated a tired Hernandez and Estrella in straight sets in the doubles to seal Colombia's passage to the World Group play-offs. The teams split the dead rubbers.
