India host Chinese Taipei for only the second meeting between the two nations. India won the previous encounter 3-2 when the teams met in 2009.
India comfortably defeated Indonesia 5-0 in their Zone Group I first round play-off. An almost full strength Indian side did not drop a set in the tie with Somdev Devvarman and Yuki Bhambri both winning their two singles rubbers and Leander Paes and Sanam Singh winning the doubles rubber.
Chinese Taipei recorded their first win in six meetings with Indonesia to remain in Zone Group I. They did not drop a single set in the first three rubbers with Liang-Chi Huang and Ti Chen undefeated in singles and Hsin-Han Lee teamed up with Hsien-Yin Peng to win the doubles. Chinese Taipei won both dead rubbers to claim a 5-0 whitewash.
