  • Tie Summary

Barbados avenged the 4-1 defeat dished out by El Salvador in 2013 with a 4-1 win of its own, giving the team a chance at reaching Americas Zone Group I for the first time in its history. The tie's direction was heavily influenced by the injury suffered by El Salvador's No. 1, Marcelo Arevalo, which forced his retirement from both the doubles and first reverse singles match. Earlier, Arevalo and Darian King had split the first two rubbers, meaning that Arevalo's second retirement handed Barbados the victory.
