  • Tie Summary

Miguel-Angel Reyes-Varela was the hero for Mexico as he contributed to all three decisive points in the win over Peru. His win over Mauricio Echazu was cancelled out by Cesar Ramirez's loss to Peruvian No. 1 Duilio Beretta to leave the tie in the balance at 1-1. However, after a comprehensive doubles victory alongside Santiago Gonzalez, Reyes-Varela defeated Beretta in four sets to seal the tie for the Mexicans. They advance to the third round, and a chance to return to Zone Group I after three years at this level.
