  • Tie Summary

Thailand lost the first rubber against Hong Kong but ultimately progressed to the next round in relatively easy fashion. Phillip King defeated Warit Sornbutnark to put Hong Kong 1-0 ahead, but his team could not make the most of this momentum, as Thailand won all of the next three rubbers in straight sets to advance to the next round and consign Hong Kong to a relegation play-off in April. Thailand will be desperate for a return to Zone Group I, having spent the past four years playing at this level.
