  • Tie Summary

Israel emerged victorious from a tie that suffered severe delays due to the Slovenian weather. Wins for Israel's Amir Weintraub and Slovenia's Blaz Rola left the tie level ahead of the doubles rubber, but there was no play on the Saturday due to heavy rain. Returning early the following morning, Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram scored an important four set doubles victory for Israel against Rola and Grega Zemlja. After a rest period Zemlja took to the court again to face Dudi Sela; after splitting the opening two sets, Zemlja, having already played six sets in one day, tired and Sela recorded a four set win to give Israel a chance at an immediate return to the World Group.
