  • Tie Summary

Denmark recorded a straightforward win over Cyprus in Copenhagen as the team kickstarted its campaign to achieve an immediate return to Zone Group I. Martin Pedersen recorded a comfortable victory against Sergis Kyratzis, before Frederik Nielsen was only briefly delayed in putting the Danes 2-0 ahead. Nielsen then teamed up with Thomas Kromann to win a doubles rubber in style, losing only four games to Christos Hadjigeorgiou and Photos Photiades. This confirmed the win for Denmark, and the teams split the dead rubbers on the Sunday. Cyprus must now battle for its place in Zone Group II in a relegation play-off in April.
