Lithuania won a gruelling away encounter with South Africa to progress the next round, a September tie in which the team can win promotion to Zone Group I for the first time. Ricardas Berankis and Laurynas Grigelis both had to win on the final day after a doubles win for Jean Andersen and Raven Klaasen had given the home team the advantage. Grigelis completed the victory with an impressive four set win over Ruan Roelofse, sending the Lithuanians through after Ricardas Berankis had defeated Rik De Voest earlier in the day.
