  • Tie Summary

Morocco kept hold of its status as a Zone Group II nation with a hard fought victory against Cyprus. Sergis Kyratzis had put the Cypriots 1-0 with a win in the first rubber, but Lamine Ouahab pegged them back, levelling the tie with a straight sets win by the end of the opening day. Teaming up with Mehdi Ziadi, Ouahab had to fight hard in the doubles, finally recording a five set win over Petros Chrysochos and Rares Cuzdriorean. Ouahab had a much easier time of things in the fourth rubber, winning without losing a single game to keep Morocco safe from relegation this year.
