There are four Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Zone Group II ties taking place this weekend with promotion at stake for the 2013 season. See below for updates from each tie.

Indonesia 3-2 Philippines

- Zone: Asia/Oceania
- Venue: Gelora Bung Karno Tennis Stadium
- Location: Jakarta, Indonesia
- Surface: Outdoor hard

Indonesian No. 1 Christopher Rungkat completed the perfect weekend on Sunday by claiming his third win of the tie and sealing promotion for his country in the process. Indonesia will play in Group I next season for the first time since 2005.

Rungkat, who was by far and away the highest ranked singles player at the tie, wasted no time in wrapping up victory for Indonesia in the opening match on Sunday. He hammered Jeson Patrombon 63 62 60 in just two hours.

That result came after a four-set win over Francis Casey Alcantara on day one, followed by another four-set doubles triumph with teammate Elbert Sie on day two, beating Philippino pair Ruben Gonzales and Treat Huey.

Philippines, who were relegated from Group I in 2011, managed to salvage a consolation point in the fifth rubber when Alcantara overcame Sunu-Wahyu Trijati 63 67(4) 64 to leave the final score at a respectable 3-2.

Latvia 2-3 Ukraine

- Zone: Europe/Africa
- Venue: Liepajas Olimpiskais Centrs
- Location: Liepaja, Latvia
- Surface: Indoor hard

Ukraine have been promoted to the Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group I after fighting off a Latvian comeback to win 3-2.

Latvia started the day 2-1 down after having lost a thrilling five-set doubles match on Saturday but bounced back this morning when Ernests Gulbis easily overcame Sergiy Stakhovsky 60 63 61 to level the tie at 2-2.

This meant that the all-important fifth rubber would be between Ukraine's Illya Marchenko and Andis Juska of Latvia. The first set was close with Marchenko taking it 6-4. The Ukrainian then took the second set 6-3, before wrapping up the rubber 7-5 to send Ukraine through.

Poland 3-2 Belarus

- Zone: Europe/Africa
- Venue: Miejski Osrodek Sportu i Rekreacji
- Location: Lodz, Poland
- Surface: Indoor hard

Belarus restored some pride on Sunday when they reduced the deficit to 3-2 in their clash with Poland in Lodz. The hosts took an insurmountable 3-0 lead on Saturday, sealing promotion to Group I in the process, but the visitors kept fighting until the end.

Alexander Bury got the day started well for Belarus by defeating doubles specialist Marcin Matkowski 63 63 in exactly one hour. Matkowski was drafted into the singles line-up to replace Polish No. 1 Lukas Kubot, who was struggling with a knee injury.

The final rubber was scheduled to see Jerzy Janowicz take on Dzmitry Zhyrmont, but the Polish No. 2 was suffering with a gastro stomach illness and pulled out. That gifted Belarus the final point, but 19-year-old Maciej Smola stepped in for an exhibition match against Zhyrmont.

Dominican Republic 3-2 Mexico

- Zone: Americas
- Venue: Centro Español Inc., Santiago de los Caballeros
- Location: Dominican Republic
- Surface: Outdoor clay

The Dominican Republic have sealed promotion to Americas Zone Group I next year after finding a way past Mexico at the Centro Español.

Victor Estrella was the star of the show, winning both his singles rubbers and crucially clinching the deciding third point with a 76(4) 63 64 victory over Cesar Ramirez in the first of the reverse singles rubbers.

Bruno Rodriguez salvaged a point for the visitors in the final day when he eased past Roberto Cid 61 60 in just 47 minutes.

For Mexico it's another year in Zone Group II action in 2013.
