Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Stanislas Wawrinka will all be in World Group action when the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas quarterfinals take place on 4-6 April.

World No. 3 Wawrinka and No. 4 Roger Federer will combine to form a super Swiss side for the tie against Kazakhstan in Geneva.

Wawrinka and Federer will be supported by Marco Chiudinelli and Henri Laaksonen as they look to avenge defeat to the Kazakhs in the World Group play-offs four years ago.

The visitors at the Palexpo name just one change from the team that relegated Switzerland from the World Group in 2010 with Mikhail Kukushkin, Andrey Golubev and Evgeny Korolev all back in action alongside Aleksandr Nedovyesov.

Great Britain’s Murray will lead his side into battle against Italy in Naples with the visitors charting unfamiliar ground having last featured in the World Group quarterfinals in 1986.

Leon Smith has nominated three singles players in his quartet to face Italy, with Dan Evans, James Ward and Colin Fleming making up the rest of the team.

Italy, a quarterfinalist for the second year running, has named a full-strength team with world No. 13 Fabio Fognini and world No. 34 Andreas Seppi looking to make home advantage count on the clay of Naples alongside Paolo Lorenzi and Simone Bolelli.

France will be favourites heading into the quarterfinal against Germany as the hosts have named a formidable line-up of Richard Gasquet, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gael Monfils and Julien Benneteau.

The Germans, meanwhile, have been hit hard by injuries and have nominated just one player with Davis Cup experience in Tobias Kamke. He will be supported by Jan-Lennard Struff, Peter Gojowczyk and Andre Begemann.

The defending champions will be without Tomas Berdych for their trip to Tokyo, which means that Lukas Rosol will play as the No. 1 singles player and Radek Stepanek will likely play on all three days. The Czechs have also named Jiri Vesely and Jan Hajek in their team.

Japan has put forward its best possible line-up in a bid to reach the World Group semifinals for the first time. Kei Nishikori, Go Soeda, Tatsuma Ito and Yasutaka Uchiyama will be hoping to make history for the hosts.

As well as the World Group action there are 23 zonals ties taking place on 4-6 April. The winners of the eight Zone Group I ties will earn a place in September’s World Group play-offs, where the losers of February’s first round ties await.

The draw for the World Group play-offs will take place at the ITF headquarters in London on Tuesday 8 April.
