Puerto Rico and Costa Rica both won their third tie of the week to ensure that they will advance to the promotional play-offs on Saturday as they seek to win the right to play in Americas Zone Group II in 2015.
The Puerto Ricans, who are yet to drop a set this week, eased to victory over a sorry Trinidad & Tobago team, which notched up its fourth loss of the week. Christian Garay, playing his first singles match of the week, scored a 61 61 victory against Akiel Duke to get his team off to the perfect start.
Gabriel Flores Ruiz won a similarly straightforward encounter against Vaughn Wilson 61 62 to end Trinidad & Tobago's slim hopes of a victory. And Alex Llompart Filardi and Gilberto Alvarez maintained the team's perfect record with a 62 64 win in the doubles.
Costa Rica, meanwhile, also cruised to victory against Jamaica, and the team will be delighted with its form this week as they look to reach Zone Group II for the first time since 2001.
Ignaci Roca Balmaceda and Pablo Nunez Palmieri both won their singles matches comfortably before Alvaro Riveros Quintero and Julian Saborio Madrigal won the doubles to seal a third 3-0 win.
The result means that Puerto Rico and Costa Rica will finish in first and second positions in Pool B; the order will be determined by the outcome of the tie between the two on Friday. The other Pool B encounter sees Bermuda take on Jamaica.
In Pool A, Bahamas and Honduras will fight for the right to join Cuba in the promotional play-offs. Cuba will win the pool if they defeat Panama.
The promotional play-offs take place on Saturday.
