SEVILLE, SPAIN: Read some of the best quotes from Thursday's draw for the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final, which gets under way on Friday in Seville...

Del Potro: “I pulled out of Valencia and Paris to be ready for this competition. I know for Argentinean players and our country this is very important. We are ready for a fight.”

Ferrer: “Juan Martin is a very good player, he plays very well on all surfaces and I think tomorrow depends on the physical and my energy.”

Lopez: “There have been so many finals and this is the one we have to really challenge now.”

Verdasco: “They are all five very good players. If the doubles was Monaco-Schwank, or Monaco-Chela, or Chela-Schwank, it would be tough anyway.”

Monaco: “First of all it’s going to be very special to play my first final, and then playing Rafa, he’s one of my best friends on the tour so it’s going to be nice. And it’s also nice for tennis fans to see friends playing in a big challenge.”

Verdasco: “That final [2008] was unbelievable and maybe the greatest experience of my career.”

Nadal: “I always want my colleagues and my friends to do well in life, in general. I hope that they don't win this one, though, if possible, please. They can win next year. But of course I wish them the best of luck, that's true.”

Costa: “I believe in them [the team] very much and this weekend we’re going to give 100%, so I think we have our chance to win.”

Vazquez: “This is a unique opportunity for me.This is very special.  I'm very proud of the effort that has been made by the players during the last three weeks. They have been living together which is not usual, and they have really done their best to come here the way they are.”

Costa: “The fact that Rafa is playing the first match helps the team to put their minds at rest."

Nadal: “The motivation, the illusion to share with all my friends here this final is completely different, the surface is different, and emotions too. Even if I am tired, I try my best to arrive to the match tomorrow with my best conditions. Tomorrow is a day I have to be very well, I have to be ready to fight every point or run every ball, and to accept that point will be a difficult one.

Schwank: “Being in a Davis Cup final is very important, the feelings are the best one could imagine. Belonging to this team is great.”
