DOHA, QATAR: The third day of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Asia/Oceania Zone Group IV has been completed at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, Qatar.
Turkmenistan is leading Pool A after earning their third consecutive victory against Saudi Arabia. Despite the clear 3-0 score, all three rubbers were very contested and were decided in the third set. Georgiy Pochay and Aleksandr Ernepesov beat Zaki Alabdullah and Fahad Al Saad respectively in two very close matches that ended with exactly the same score 64 26 36. The doubles rubber saw the other two members of the Turkmenistani team Eziz Dovletov
and Jamshid Ilmuradov earn the last point of the tie with a 61 57 46 victory over Saudi Arabia's Omar Al Thagib and Abdulmalek Burasais.
In the other Pool A tie, United Arab Emirates kept their unbeaten status in their second tie in this Round Robin with a comprehensive victory over Bahrain. UAE managed to win all three rubbers without dropping a set.
In Pool B, Cambodia continued enjoying their dream debut in Davis Cup with a 3-0 victory over Myanmar. Pannhara Mam and Kenny Bun beat Aung Kyaw Naing and Phyo Min Thar respectively in straight sets and Kenny Bun stepped again into the court to partner with Vetu Mam to close the tie with another straight-sets win over Nge Hnaung and Min Min.
The Cambodians lead the table with three ties won with only 2 sets dropped.
Jordan are now second in Pool B after beating narrowly Singapore 2-1 in the most contested tie of the day in Doha.
