Baghdatis looks to level Borg's winning streak

As well as keeping his beloved Cyprus in Europe/Africa Zone Group II this weekend, there is a significant milestone in Marcos Baghdatis' career up for grabs.

The Cypriot could draw level with the legendary Bjorn Borg for having the longest winning streak in Davis Cup singles rubbers if he wins both of his matches against Benin's Alexis Klegou and Jean Segodo.

Baghdatis has won his last 31 outings wearing his country's colours and trails only Borg who amassed a winning streak of 33 matches.

The world No. 38 has been named to play on all three days of his side's relegation play-off against Benin and he will be required to be at his best if he is to keep his side in Zone Group II.

Those teams bidding to keep their hopes alive of earning promotion include Finland (led by Jarkko Nieminen), Latvia (who have Ernests Gulbis on their team) and Portugal (with a team that includes Gastao Elias).
