Granollers and Lopez peak at perfect time

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez caused an upset by winning the ATP World Tour Finals at London's O2 Arena on Monday and now they will be looking to do the same at the venue of the same name in Prague.

The Spanish duo, who only started playing regularly on tour together at the start of this year, fought off Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna in the final of the year-end championships to prove that they will be no pushover in this weekend's Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final.

When asked why they were playing so well, Granollers said: "We don't know. We try to play as best as we can always, no? I think we have very good relationship. So I think that's one of the key of our success."

However, the pair are under no illusion that they have an altogether different prospect playing Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek in Saturday's doubles rubber as the Czech duo have only lost one Davis Cup match - against Spain in the 2009 final.

"The doubles is always a very close match," added Granollers. "Two points can decide the match. They have a strong team with Radek and Tomas. They play with the surface they choose, so it's difficult for us. But we will try our best."

And clearly their best is good enough to trouble even the very top doubles teams in the world as they showed at the O2 in London last week. They started the week with a super tiebreak victory over the legendary Bryan brothers and lost just one match all week.

Interestingly, that match did come against Leander Paes and Stepanek himself, which just adds even more spice to what is sure to be a fascinating encounter on Saturday.
