TURIN, ITALY: Italian captain Corrado Barazzutti expresses his delight that Italy were able to win and is particularly happy for his players as they defeated Croatia in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group first round tie in Turin.
Andreas Seppi lost the opening rubber of Sunday to leave the tie level at 2-2 and the Italian was dissapointed that he was not able to ever gain a grip in a match that was lost in straight sets and most notably he was unhappy that his serve let him down.
It was thus left to Fabio Fognini to complete the job and the joy he experienced was clear for all to see and he was keen to mention the amazing home support.
For Croatia it was heartbreak with Ivan Dodig heaping praise on his opponent while Captain Zeljko Krajan pondered whether playing just two men over the ties was a mistake but refused to say he would have done anything differently if he had a chance to do it again.
