WIENER NEUSTADT, AUSTRIA: Andreas Haider-Maurer was on cloud nine after his victory over Russian Alex Bogomolov Jr. in the second rubber of the first round Davis Cup by BNP Paribas tie. The Austrian credits his best ever win to his knowledge of the higher-ranked Bogomolov's game and his superior serve on the hard courts in Wiener Neustadt.
Jurgen Melzer earlier described his five-set win over Igor Kunitsyn as a "dogfight" after he recorded his first ever win over the Russian while captain Clemens Trimmel looks ahead to Saturday and a chance to seal victory in the doubles.
