FRIBOURG, SWITZERLAND: John Isner has called the defeat of 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer "the biggest win" of his life, but explains that he took to the court believing he could cause an upset.
Captain Jim Courier reflects on a great opening day for USA and explains how he told Isner not to allow Federer to play his game.
Mardy Fish, who put the visitors ahead in a five-set marathon which lasted four hours 26 minutes against Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka, talks about his feelings after his heroic exploits, why he keeps being extended to five sets in Davis Cup action and why the Swiss crowd is one of the best he's ever played in front of.
For the Swiss, Federer maintained that he played to a high level but was simply outplayed by his opponent and captain Severin Luthi dispelled any suggestion that he might rest Wawrinka for the all-important doubles on day two.
