CHARLEROI, BELGIUM: Viktor Troicki scored a stunning comeback from two-sets-down over David Goffin of Belgium to win the first rubber in Serbia's first round encounter in Charleroi. Troicki considers the win his second best Davis Cup match ever, the best being clinching the 2010 Davis Cup title when he defeated Michael Llodra in the fifth rubber.
The win today brought back memories of Serbia playing Belgium in 2005 when Janko Tipsarevic competing against both Olivier and Christophe Rochus and fought back from two sets and a break in each match to come back and win.
In the second rubber Novak Djokovic had a much simpler route to victory with his serve particularly impressive and the World No.1 happy with his transition from hard court to clay.
His opponent Olivier Rochus went into the match with a winning record in head-to-head matches but they had not faced each other since 2005 and the Belgian heaped praise on his opponent after the match remarking that he didn't have any idea how to deal with the pace and variety of serve coming at him.
