MONTREAL, CANADA: Canadian captain Martin Laurendeau is confident his team can preserve their spot in the World Group by defeating South Africa this weekend. The visitors were hit by bad news earlier in the day after the withdrawl of their highest ranked player Rik de Voest through injury.

The South Africans have nominated their captain as a non-playing captain as at such short notice they were unable to bring in a replacement. Their captain John-Laffnie de Jager discusses his teams misfortune while his opposite number talks about what his squad must do this weekend to ensure they secure the win.
