TOKYO, JAPAN: Israel should be considered underdogs in their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Play-off tie against Japan according to captain Eyal Ran.

Previewing the tie Ran considered that home advantage combined with a squad of rapidly improving players puts Japan at an advantage but also stressed that his side have their own expectations and have not arrived in Tokyo as tourists.

Kei Nishikori also looks ahead to the tie and in particular his first match against Dudi Sela which will take place on Friday.
