OSTRAVA, CZECH REPUBLIC: Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek, who have so often teamed up successfully for Czech Republic in the past, combined once again to hand the Czechs a place in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group quarterfinals.

Following their singles wins on day one, the pair combined to defeat Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace 63 64 62 in Saturday's doubles rubber, pushing Czech Republic into an unassailable 3-0 lead.

The Czechs now await the winners of Serbia v Sweden tie in Nis, while Italians will take their place in September's World Group play-offs.

Berdych and Stepanek spoke to Lee Goodall after their victory, while the two captains also give their thoughts on the weekend.
