AUSTIN, TX, USA: David Ferrer talks about how mentally tough the match against Mardy Fish was, he had to save a lot of break points, and he is very happy with his performance. The win is very important for the team, and captain Albert Costa had a lot of confidence in his player and was a great support during the match.

Ferrer battled for just over four hours to beat the US No. 1 75 76(3) 57 76(5).

Spain will now have a home tie against France in September's semifinals.
