Michael Stich is the latest tennis legend to appear in the Davis Cup Idols video series, which features former players talking about their memories and experiences of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas.
Stich enjoyed a highly successful Davis Cup career and played on Germany’s trophy-winning team in 1993. He made his debut in 1990 and compiled an impressive 35-11 win-loss record during a seven-year spell in the side.
As an individual, Stich won the Wimbledon singles title in 1991 and finished runner-up at both the US Open and Roland Garros.
“When I became professional one of the goals in my career was that I wanted to win the Davis Cup,” said Stich. “I think it’s still one of the most important team competitions in the world of sport.”
