PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC: Lucie Safarova overcomes the higher-ranked Ana Ivanovic to put the Czech Republic 1-0 up in the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Final.

The Czech, who had won her last three meetings against Ivanovic, put in an inspired performance to win 64 63 in one hour 41 minutes.
