Next tie 17-19 July 2015
Argentina will host 2010 champions Serbia in the quarterfinals. The two nations have met twice before, most recently in the 2011 semifinals, when Argentina went to Serbia and earned a 3-2 win.
Last tie 6-8 March 2015
Argentina claimed the South American bragging rights for 2015 with a 3-2 win over Brazil in the World group first round. Given that the tie saw over 19 hours of play and featured the longest singles rubber in Davis Cup history when Leonardo Mayer defeated Joao Souza 76(4) 76(5) 57 57 1513 in the fourth rubber, it was unsurprising that the tie came down to a deciding fifth rubber, which Federico Delbonis won to send Argentina through.
Argentina finished runners-up in 1981, 2006, 2008 and 2011, but are yet to lift the trophy. Only Argentina, Romania and India have contested more than one Final without being crowned champion, but Argentina are the only of these nations to have lost four times.
