Next tie 6-8 March 2015
Argentina will host local rivals Brazil in an all-South American World Group first round clash in March. The Argentines have not lost to their neighbours since 1975.
Last tie 12-14 September 2014
Argentina kept its place among the world's elite with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Israel in the World Group play-offs. The tie, which was contested on neutral ground at the Sunrise Tennis Club in Florida, saw the Israelis lead 2-1 after the doubles but wins for Leonardo Mayer and Carlos Berlocq in the reverse singles secured the victory for Martin Jaite's team.
Argentina finished runners-up in 1981, 2006, 2008 and 2011, but are yet to lift the trophy. Only Argentina, Romania and India have contested more than one Final without being crowned champion, but Argentina are the only of these nations to have lost four times.
