Next tie 4-6 March 2016
Australia return home to host fellow Grand Slam nation USA in 2016.
Last tie 18-20 September 2015
Australia were the latest side to suffer at the hands of Andy and Jamie Murray, as the brothers powered Great Britain to the Davis Cup Final at the Aussies' expense. As expected, it was all square after day one, with world No. 3 Murray and then Bernard Tomic winning the first two rubbers. Saturday's crucial doubles match went right down to the wire, but it was the Murrays who prevailed in five sets against Sam Groth and Lleyton Hewitt - ultimately playing in his last Davis Cup rubber. Then the younger Murray eased past Tomic on the final day to seal the victory for Great Britain.
Australia is second only to the Americans on the all-time list of Davis Cup champions, having won the title 28 times. In 1939, when facing USA, it produced the only successful comeback from 2-0 down in a Final. Between 1905 and 1922, Aussie players represented Australasia, which was a combined Australia-New Zealand team.
