Last tie 4-6 March 2016
Without top player Victor Estrella Burgos, Dominican Republic were humbled by Chile in Santiago. Jose Olivares and Jose Hernandez-Fernandez were both unable to get a set off the Chileans in the opening two rubbers, and Hernandez-Fernandez and Manuel Castellanos did not fare any better in the doubles, slumping to another straight sets defeat. Christian Garin and Gonzalo Lama completed the rout for Chile on day three, when both recorded straight sets wins in the dead singles rubbers to leave Dominican Republic with a fight on its hands to remain in Zone Group I.
Dominican Republic enjoyed its best performance in 2015, earning a place in the World Group play-offs for the first time.
