Next tie 2015
Egypt has been relegated to Europe/Africa Zone Group III for the 2015 competition. The draw will take place closer to the event.
Last tie 4-6 April 2014
After Karim-Mohamed Maamoun's loss to James McGee, Mohamed Safwat gave the Egyptian team some hope in its relegation play-off against Ireland with a win over Sam Barry. However, the Irish eased through the remainder of the tie, winning both the doubles and the first reverse singles without losing a set, which means an immediate return to Zone Group III for Egypt.
Egypt first played Davis Cup in 1929. Its best performance has been reaching the Europe/Africa Zone Group I semifinals, which it achieved in 1982 and 1985.
