Andy Murray led Great Britain to a thrilling 3-1 quarterfinal victory over France, who were arguably the strongest and deepest team in the 2015 competition, boasting the world Nos. 11-13. However, the French couldn't match the quality and tenacity of world No. 3 Murray, who beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gilles Simon in two tough singles contests. In between, he and brother Jamie powered past Tsonga and Nicolas Mahut in the all-important doubles rubber.
Great Britain has lifted the Davis Cup trophy on nine occasions. Its last title dates back to 1936 when Fred Perry and Bunny Austin were leading the team.
