Next tie 2015
Germany have been absent from the World Group on just three occasions, and 2015 will once again see the team amongst the Davis Cup elite. The draw for the first round will be made after the World Group play-offs in September.
Last tie 4-6 April 2014
A depleted German team gave France a huge scare in an entertaining quarterfinal tie. In spite of the injuries to senior players such as Tommy Haas and Florian Mayer, the inexperienced duo of Tobias Kamke and Peter Gojowczyk won their opening singles matches before the French found some form, winning the doubles and both of the reserve singles rubbers to edge through to the semifinals.
Germany have won the Davis Cup title on three occasions - in 1988, 1989 and 1993 - and currently lie in seventh place on the all-time list of champions. Until 1990, German players represented F.R. Germany.
