Last tie 6-8 March 2015
A strong German team was unable to defeat last year's runners-up, France, at home as they found themselves 3-0 down after Saturday's doubles. Despite having German No. 1 Philipp Kohlschreiber back in the team, they were unable to cope with a French team boasting two Top 20 singles players and two Top 20 doubles players. They gave the German public something to cheer on Sunday, winning both dead singles rubbers for a 3-2 defeat.
Germany have won the Davis Cup title on three occasions - in 1988, 1989 and 1993 - and currently lie in seventh place on the all-time list of champions. Until 1990, German players represented F.R. Germany.
