Last tie 4-6 March 2016
Hungary overcame an experienced Israeli team in Budapest to put the team just one win away from a first World Group play-off since 1996. Peter Nagy stunned Israeli No. 1 Dudi Sela, resisting a fightback to win in five sets, before Marton Fucsovics defeated Amir Weintraub to leave the home side in command. Fucsovics then teamed up with Levente Godry to beat Sela and Jonathan Erlich in four tight sets to secure a famous victory for Hungary.
Hungary first played Davis Cup in 1924. It has twice reached the World Group first round, in 1994 and 1996, and also reached the Europe Zone Final in 1976 and 1978.
