Next tie 15-17 July 2016
Korea Republic will travel to India for an Asia/Oceania Zone Group I second round clash.
Last tie 4-6 March 2016
The Koreans powered past New Zealand in March's first round tie in Seoul, with wins for Hyeon Chung and Seong Chan Hong. After two singles wins for the home side, New Zealand's Artem Sitak and Michael Venus won a four-set doubles encounter to keep the tie alive. Chung, however, recorded a straightforward victory over Jose Statham on day three to keep his nation in the hunt for a World Group play-off place later this year.
Korea played in the World Group in 1981, 1987 and 2008, but has never progressed past the first round. Korea's Young-Jun Kim was involved in the longest-known Davis Cup tiebreak to date against Pakistan's Aqeel Khan in 2003, the first set breaker lasted 36 points.
