Luxembourg will compete in Europe/Africa Group II for a fourth straight year in 2014 after surviving a relegation play-off for the second year running.

Luxembourg hit back from 1-0 down to win four rubbers on the trot and avoid relegation into Group III for the first time since 2010. Gilles Muller starred for Luxembourg, winning the doubles alongside Mike Scheidweiler as well as both of his singles ties, including the decisive fourth rubber 97 in the fifth set.
History
Luxembourg's best performances in the competition have been reaching the Europe/Africa Zone Group I second round, which it achieved in 1993, 2003, 2004 and 2006. Prior to the current World Group format being introduced in 1981, it reached the quarterfinals of the European Zone in 1967 and 1971.
