Last tie 17-19 July 2015
Pakistan swept by Indonesia in Jakarta to seal a promotion play-off berth against Chinese Taipei, with the winner earning a place in Asia/Oceania Zone Group I for 2016. Pakistan's Aqueel Khan took the first rubber before Samir Iftikhar produced a superb comeback from a two-set deficit to extend the visitors' advantage. Christopher Rungkat and Sunu-Wahyu Trijati won the doubles for Indonesia to ensure that the final day wasn't to be in complete vain. But Mohammad Akbar defeated David Susanto in a topsy-turvy fourth rubber to secure the tie for Pakistan.
Pakistan's best Davis Cup performance came in 2005, when it reached the World Group play-offs. It was also one step away from qualifying for the World Group when losing the 1984 Eastern Zone Final against Japan. Pakistan's Aqeel Khan was involved in the longest-known Davis Cup tiebreak against Korea's Young-Jun Kim in 2003 - the first set breaker lasted 36 points.
