Next tie 6-8 March 2015
Poland will host Europe/Africa Zone Group I newcomers Lithuania in the first round in 2015. Poland won the only previous meeting between the two teams in 1995.
Last tie 4-6 April 2014
Poland suffered defeat from a Marin Cilic-inspired Croatian team in Warsaw. After Cilic beat Michal Przysiezny in straight sets, 17-year-old Borna Coric beat Poland's No. 1 Jerzy Janowicz in a five set classic. The ever-reliable pair of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski had to fight hard but won through in five sets in the doubles to keep the Poles alive in the tie, but Cilic mounted a remarkable comeback against Janowicz in the fourth rubber, turning around a two-set deficit to win and give Croatia a chance at an immediate return to the World Group.
Poland first played Davis Cup in 1925 and is yet to contest the World Group. Its best performance is reaching the World Group play-offs in 2013.
