Last tie 5-7 April 2013
Syria got off to a great start in their Asia/Oceania Zone Group II relegation play-off against Kuwait, when Issam Haitham Taweel won the opening rubber. However, Kuwait fought back, winning the second singles rubber and then the doubles to lead 2-1 after the second day's play. It would be up to Taweel to keep Syria in it, but, despite winning the first set, he could not defeat Mohammad Ghareeb and Syria lost the tie, resulting in their relegation to Zone III.
History
