USSR competed in Davis Cup from 1962 to 1991, reaching the last four of the competition (Inter-Zone semifinal) in both 1974 and 1976.
Upon the break-up of the Soviet Union on 1991, it competed as Commonwealth of Independent States in 1992 before the consituent republics competed in their own right from 1993.
USSR's historical records were assumed by Russia
