Next tie 2016
Venezuela again take their place in Americas Zone Group II for 2016.
Last tie 18-20 September 2015
Venezuela were humbled 5-0 by Chile in Santiago, ending their promotion hopes for another year. Gonzalo Lama and Hans Podlipnik-Castillo won the opening two rubbers in straight sets, before Christian Garin and Castillo combined to clinch the doubles and the tie on Saturday. Juan Carlos Saez and Lama added to Venezuelan misery by winning the reverse singles too.
Venezuela reached the Americas Zone Group Final in 1960 and 1963, and, more recently, also reached the World Group play-offs in 1995 and 2002. Venezuela's Jorge Andrew was involved in the Davis Cup singles rubber containing most games, 100, when losing to Canada's Harry Fritz 1614 119 911 46 119 in 1982.
