| 2008 World Group draw |
2007 finalists Russia and USA were handed tough assignments in the 2008 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group when the draw was made in London.
Russia was given a home tie against World Group debutant Serbia while USA will have to travel to Austria in February.
Peru’s first appearance in the World Group will be marked by a home tie against fourth seeds Spain while Israel, back in the World Group for the first time in 14 years will also play host – to Sweden.
Third seeds Argentina will play Great Britain in Argentina while Germany was the only other seeded nation, along with Russia and Argentina, to receive home advantage and will face Korea, back in the World Group after a 20-year absence.
The remaining ties sees France travel to Romania in a repeat of their 2007 encounter, which was held in France and Czech Republic hosting Belgium.
