| Davydenko to miss Davis Cup |
Russian No. 1 Nikolay Davydenko will miss next months Davis Cup by BNP Paribas quarterfinal tie against Israel.
Team captain Shamil Tarpishchev revealed that he has let the world no. 11 not play in the team’s first two ties in this year's competition.
The Russians, who defeated Romania 4-1 in the first round, have selected Marat Safin, Igor Andreev, Dmitry Tursunov and Mikhail Youzhny for the July 10-12 tie in Tel Aviv.
"Of course, we still have time before we travel to Israel so we might see some changes in the team in the next couple of weeks. I'll make a final decision after Wimbledon", said Tarpishchev.
