Nalbandian targets Davis Cup success
David Nalbandian has set doing well in Davis Cup by BNP Paribas as one of his main objectives for 2010.

Nalbandian, the former world No. 3, has been sidelined with a hip injury since May but made a winning comeback at a recent exhibition event in Buenos Aires.

"The first issue is to make it through these first four months," said Nalbandian. "I have to be careful and time will tell what goals I can set. Obviously the Davis Cup is still a clear objective. After that, the big tournaments."

Argentina will begin its 2010 Davis Cup campaign against Sweden. The World Group first round tie will be staged indoors in Stockholm, from 5-7 March.

Nalbandian has twice played in a Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final - 2006 versus Russia and 2008 versus Spain - with Argentina finishing runner-up on both occasions.

Since making his Davis Cup debut against Russia in 2002, the 27-year-old from Cordoba has compiled an impressive 27-9 winning record.

As an individual, Nalbandian has won ten titles including the Tennis Masters Cup in 2005. Also, he finished runner-up at Wimbledon in 2002, losing to Lleyton Hewitt in the final.
