| What is a Podcast? |
According to Wikipedia, "A podcast is a multimedia file distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds, for playback on mobile devices and personal computers. The term was meant as a portmanteau of "broadcasting" and "iPod". Like 'radio', it can mean both the content and the method of delivery; the latter may also be termed podcasting. The host or author of a podcast is often called a podcaster."
Essentially podcasting is a way of delivering audio and or video shows directly to you, the user, automatically using a syndication feed. It's a specialised audio or video RSS Feed.
We provide a podcast feed of the Davis Cup Radio podcast, which consists of Davis Cup Radio shows. So you can get the Davis Cup Radio podcast on your computer or personal mp3 player, whenever and wherever you want! Once you have subscribed to the podcast, the latest audio shows will simply download automatically to your computer, and depending on your settings and equipment, will then be transferred to your personal audio/video device (eg mp3 player).
iPod and iTunes users may have seen that Davis Cup Radio podcasts are available in iTunes, but now anyone with a podcast aggregator (such as iPodder) can subscribe for free. Just drag the relevant icon into your podcast aggregator, or click on the iTunes icon (if you have iTunes installed on your computer), and you will be subscribed:
